Apple networking dilemma

Apple networking dilemma
Ok, I finally got the N router. My question is concerns having both my Airport (wifi) and wired connection running at the same time on my MacBook Pro.
I need to keep the wifi open as my all-in-one printer is connected using wifi, but I need the wired connection because the my constant HD video streaming requires it. How do I know what connection (wifi or wired) my computer is using as I want to ensure the computer is reaching the PS3 directly through the wired connection and not going wifi to the router then wired to the PS3? Thank you.

Sounds confusing.
You want to use wifi for your airport and printer and PS3 wired, correct? All of this on one computer?
If you have XP or Vista, it will default to the best connection possible. I don't think you can specifically tell your computer to use wired only for PS3 and wifi only for the airport and printer. But I believe you should be ok.

If your computer is already connected via wired ethernet to the router, that's all you need. You don't need to run wi-fi on the computer at all. The printer will talk to the network via wi-fi, and you will still enjoy the full bandwidth of your wired connection for your streaming needs.
So, to be clear on the connections:
Computer --> wired ethernet to N router
PS3 --> wired ethernet to N router
printer --> wifi to N router

Computer --> wired ethernet to N router
PS3 --> wired ethernet to N router
printer --> wifi to N router

). Turned the Airport off and was still able to print over wifi!

Cool! Yeah, the printer is using wifi to attach to the network, you don't have to use wifi in order to print to it.
