Problems after update?

Wise lion once say: Never install a major update the day it's released.
Software Update works great for minor software updates, however, when there's a major that does a lot of system level changes, stuff can happen. It's a better idea to wait a few days, see if any issues pop up, and then download the combo updater from Apple and install that way.

That said...I updated my all my iMacs and didn't really run into any problems.
BTW, why did my iMacs through software update download a ~190 MB update and my brand spanking new Macbook download a ~330 MB update via software update?
Is the combo update a cumulative update of 10.5.0-10.5.6?

Software update deltas things based on the current state of the machine, whereas the combo updater is everything and the kitchen sink.
Is the combo update a cumulative update of 10.5.0-10.5.6?
