Thanks guys. I am pretty settled on a Macbook 13-incher at this point and this has reinforced that. Considering that I am planning on having it for a few years it is helpful to get first-hand feedback from users before I make the jump.

Did you put exta ram in Alin? I haven't had a chance..

I do have a weird problem of links not opening when I click on them in threads...can't figure that one out yet..
There was an update on the trackpad that my MB downloaded as soon as I connected to the internet. Did yours?

I did put 4 GB in since I have to run a Windows virtualizer for some hospital stuff, and Fusion or Parallels runs like crap on 2GB's.

If you need firewire then you have no choice. If you need a major graphics set up then you have no choice. Otherwise it is simply a choice between 13 or 15" screen preference. Personally, I do not need either of the above and I prefer 13" so it was an easy choice. Fully loaded Macbook.

I got the MacBookPro 17" a few months ago after having the G4 17" PowerBook for almost 5 years. At this point it seems no different. The reason I got a new machine though is 'cause I was out of space. I don't really use a lot of apps on here.

I have the previous generation MBP 15" (2.4ghz). At the time I opted for it over the MB because: 15" screen size, better case, and a more comfortable back lit keyboard. I spent about $400 more buying the Pro, but I really enjoy it and I'm glad I made this pick. Now, the new generation MB and MBP is a different story; the majority of the downfalls of the MB have been fixed. If you're stressing over the extra coin, buy the MB, you won't be disappointed - still, I love the size of the MBP.
