Even though I am a hard core fan and have many Apple products, I can't go into an apple store and take them all very seriously. The place still creeps me out on some level.. But what can you do?

Today I went to the store with a recently dead video output on my friends MacBook Pro...He bought it in August 2007.

I somehow got an appointment with a 'Genius" (uy) and told him this computer has been problematic for awhile and that there are known problems wtih the video..He checked to see it was out of warranty...Printed out an invoice and said, please sign this..

He circled the cost of the repair.

Zero..

Very impressed with the service...My old thinkpad was a few minutes out of warranty and just trying to get through to Lenovo was not worth the trouble..

 

That's good news. I have a ton of Apple stuff too... Congrats on getting it taken care of.

 

Yeah, I'm a hero with my friend...like i needed to go to the Apple store today of all days?

But it felt good as he's pretty broke and was really down about this. He was amazed it's being fixed for free!
