Offering help for 997.2 LED swap

So after some trial and error we have found the special combo for the 997.1-997.2 LED taillight swap.

If your 911 is 2005-2008 You will need the 2009-present front and rear control unit. You will also need to shave a small portion if the factory tail light connector attached to the rear wiring harness. You will not need a adapter plug. All the wiring lines right up and locks in securely. As stated in other peoples threads you will need to swap the No 14 to 34 and 6 to 21 in the front control unit(black) connector. But for those who were getting tail light warnings and the instrument cluster was flashing too fast you will need to swap pin (front)No 11 to 36, and pin (rear)42 to 31. You will also need to code the front and rears to accept LED's.

We chose the factory clear lights as well as a factory 2010 Turbo rear bumper that they had to pull off the assembly line.
I hope this info helps!!! I will attach pics in a few.

Thank you for the information. So, if you have a 2009 997TT (non-LED lights), the stock control units will work?

Ive had a few PM's about this mod. If you have a 997.1 Turbo you already have the needed control units in your car for this conversion. All you will need is the bumper and lights. You shave the factory connector and move pins on the two c/u's then re-program. thats all.

Do you mind sharing more details about this mod! I've been seriously considering getting this. I'd like to know the part numbers for the bumper and the tailights if you don't mind. And of course the cost for the parts!

Thanks so much for sharing this VERY useful information!

Sure Atominc:
997-505-941-09 thats the rear bumper.
997-631-992-00 for a clear tail light
997-631-991-00 for the other light.
you use the "old" bumperettes and lower spoiler
you will also need the exhaust surrounds
997-505-651-02-01C exhaust surround
997-505-652-02-01C exhaust surround.
I do work for a dealer, but I would suggest using Suncoast Porsche for the soucing. They are sponsers here and a pleasure to deal with.
You dont need any parts beyond this, although I would suggest Techart exhaust tips.

***also the intercooler grills from the old bumper will convert over***
