MKI 996 GT3 in the US?
Hey guys,
I know many laws vary and there are numerous loopholes such as what you can import a vehicle under blah blah blah.
In June, I was in Germany to visit the Nurburgring (3rd pilgrimage haha). I got to lap an old friend's MKI 996 GT3 around the lap and I was astonished.
Now there are the ones that were never brought over to the states because of DOT regulations.
I've seen near exact replicas and tribute cars here and there, but (also asked this on Rennlist), is there anyone what owns one or knows of anyone who currently has an MKI 996 GT3 in the US?
I know the rule is 25 years but I've seen some R34 GT-R/Skylines here (probably brought under some law that prohibits them from use on public roadways). But it would be awesome to bring one of these puppies over.
I bought the MKII GT3 in 2004 when it came out, and loved it. Currently own a 2010 GT3 RS and would love to bring an MKI over.
