early 996 production data

early 996 production data
I'm looking to import a early c4 into canada from the united states, and can exempt myself from most of the import process if the car is over 15 years old. Does anyone know how many were produced in 1998? Anywhere i can find more info/vin ranges?

I sent the owner of that car a message yesterday before the auction closed, he hasen't gotten back to me.
this one closed the other day and shows registration in may of 98 for vin # WP0AA299XXS620156, which means the early examples are easily importable already.

i'll have to keep hunting until i can find good vin range info
