Got a quote from a dealer on a new 2012 C2S Cab in PDK which stickered at 132k for 2100/mo for 24 months at 5k/yr. My NYS taxes and fees in the payment incl BF. Same car in 2013 MY would be 2300/mo. Waiting til Sep/Oct to see if Porsche comes out with a aggressive lease program on their sport cars (991) as they have in the past.

Very true. See it everyday in my parts. Guys living in apartments with 2 or 3 other guys, driving a Porsche and parking it on the street. No patience. Every needs to have it now. Bought my first Porsche when I was 46. It was a new 2001 Porsche 911. I had a home and 2 kids. Stupid me I put my family first.

You treat the lease like a balloon payment. Yes you pay a bit more ~3-4K per 100K or so. But if you decide to sell the vehicle under the break even point due to taxes you can save a bit of cash.
If you do a solid down payment as well you can avoid a good bit of the money factor as well.
Its what I am doing on the car I hope to pickup this weekend.

A number of smaller banks and companies write used car leases. In fact it makes a ton on sense to use a lease to offset sales tax in places like California if you are not sure that you are going to be holding onto the car longer then say three years.

So for some (like me) it makes more sense to lease.
Either way we are losing money on these cars, but its a price I am willing to pay. Thats why I work hard to make the money.
