Test Drive Today: Porsche 991 Base Model v 997s
#82
I never 'bonded' with my 996 Turbo, it was admittedly great, in some ways the best car in the world really at the time but for a few reasons including that they really demand to be driven fast and you could only rarely get opportunities to open up, all wheel drive to me took away from the fun, didn't like the clutch at all. I sold it to by my GT3 which makes the point better than more words about it.
How different is the 997 Turbo? I'm sure it's much better and I am also sure I'd love it but never been a turbo fan for any of my cars.

ell
funny cause I was looking at pictures, watching the EVO test drives and I have always been a hardcore Boxster fan.
What a great time to be a Porsche lover...so many great choices both preowned and new.
I'm in no rush and am slowly organizing where I might live and the choice of car might differ greatly on that as well'.
I love considering a 997S, 991 (base yeah), new Box or Cayman and even used Box S' would probably be a really nice change to the 2000 S that I am using as my daily...Even a 997 Turbo is not completely out of the question.
Can't go wrong with any of them!

lol...the answer will reveal itself at the appropriate time...The decision was 'made' on a 997s but i dutifully test drove the 991 and again am glad it was a base model..
Going to LA next week to visit and take some pictures and my 2005 White GT3 happens to be waiting for me! So I know what I will be driving next week!
