Sucks you have to go through this, but it sounds like they are really stepping up to make it right.

re: Salesman's day off, I don't think there are many car sales people who take any days off on the last couple days of the month

Sorry to hear about this issue. But your comment regarding not expecting a car of this value should not break down is setting expectations a bit too high regardless of a car's worth. Car are still too mechanical to expect perfection. Glad they are taking care of it and that this will represent the only problem you have with this car. Tough way to enjoy the new car experience.

You have a nice car- Too bad things with it are not going as expected. I am sure you will be very happy with the car once you get this fixed. Sounds like you have good dealer helping to make the early issue disappear. I feel kinda bad for you. Hope this doesnt start happening to trans on more of these cars. good luck and keep us updated on how things are going. Best of luck

Makes you question the quality control procedures at the factory.

How can a car leave the factory without a functioning transmission? Aren't they individually road tested for a few miles?

i would also feel uneasy about receiving a new transmission, dealer installed and not factory. I hope for you this was a lease or that this won't show up in the vehicle's history.

On the plus side, your car looks fantastic.

one of many reasons to try and hold off for 6 months to get a new gen car. But I realize in my own way patience is hard to deal with sometimes especially regarding cars. Me waiting for the Turbo to come out will the longest I ever waited for a car to buy. It's extremely painful mentally.

Indeed, very unfortunate... but no matter the quality control, there will always be a % of defects, even on objects that cannot sustain more than 0% defects (such as space shuttles).

Sounds like you were in good hands, though. Champion is one of the best.

Good luck and congrats on the 991S, despite this bit of sadness.
