Precisely - I've told him the same thing. It's one thing to say "I've heard..." while it's quite another to say "It is....".

So if its partly aluminum, but covered in canvas, what's the point? Weight savings? Rigidity?

Don't see the point in putting metal on the roof unless it's going to be painted and be the exterior surface.

Are you serious guys?

Come on, not every post from him might be precisely backed up with any 100% true data, but to this point, there doesn't seem to be a clear answer.

Forums are not only places for facts but also for rumors, etc.

May be it would be better to state a comment like that with "I'm pretty sure that it will be.." but that's not a reason to pick on him in this way.

I don't know how old he is, and I don't know how old you are. But this isn't the way how grown-ups should behave.

Just my 2 cents for a better forum climate

@ Axxlrod
I guess that it's part stability, part noise-reducion, part money.

I guess that it's part stability, part noise-reducion, part money.

If every post would start with "Maybe it will..." instead of "It will..." or "I think the GT3 is ..." instead of "The GT3 is..." we wouldn't have this conversation.

For the record, I don't want to be rude but I don't think you've been around long enough to understand why it is an issue.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to stir you up for a page and a half. I'll watch my wording next time.

Interesting video on you tube with 991 convertible, cayman, etc.
