2012 Porsche 911 Convertible to get folding hardtop?
The article says it could be "partial canvas", but we all know that would look stupid, so probably just a mis translation of the patent.
But, we know it will be canvas wrapped because there have been test mules spied with Sea Blue canvas roofs.

after closer inspection; it might just BE canvas- but the foremost and rear most 'panels' are aluminum- the middle two 'panels' are soft, thus, no metal.
But if you look at the pic, the rear piece opens up HIGHER then the actual top of the windshield- and farther out. I just opened a 997 Cabriolet and the rear section just moves up and back - but a 1/4 the distance the new 991's rear shelf does.
the plot thickens. lol

But what the 12-year old didnt mention in his first post, just like in so many other posts, is that we still dont know for sure. The kid is so obsessed with knowing more than the rest of us that he pretends to know things for a fact although they are still just rumours. I've told him many times before but he wont listen: Stop confusing people.
