Are we in the US finally rid of the bumperettes on the new 991?

None of the pics I've seen are showing them. I'd hate to see the sleek rear ruined by their addition.

 

All photos I've seen have been of Euro cars, but I doubt you're getting rid of them. Aren't they there because of safety regulations?

 

I'm so used to seeing them..... you really notice them??

 

This, I've never understood. Not only are they absolutely hideous and ruins the entire car but ... safety regulations specific to 911s?! On the basis that people have a tendency to bump in them more than, say, an F430? I don't get it.

And why does every single US-spec 911, even old ones, still have them? How can you drive around with those things on without wanting to die a death until you died?

 

I like them.... I think they better protect the bumper.

Correct, no more bumperettes on the U.S spec cars. The new U.S spec rear bumpers have a smaller license plate area.

 

i never noticed them until the day i joined this forum and people complained about em lol...they deff not as bad as orange side markers...

 

Now if we can just get a few countries to drop the front license plate laws...

 

I think European plates look fantastic on the front of 911s! But U.S plates on the front look horrible.
