991S Dec build - my spec... comments welcome
Hi all, its been a while since I posted. Long story but it involves me, my motorcycle, and a deer = many broken bones! Not pleasant but lucky to be here!
On to the topic at hand. I got a call from my dealer that they have a build spot available for the 991 S in December which I guess will be for Feb 2012 delivery. Since selling my 997.2 GT3 I've been Porscheless for a couple of months and can't wait to get back in one. I've spec'd a 991 S out in Platinum Silver and would appreciate your comments prior to me sending off my choices.
I know many will consider Silver as boring but I've done my fair share of Black penance. I'm anal about the car being spotless and Black cars end up owning me and not the other way around. I'm totally confused about the interior and have at present spec'd it as Blue but Grey or Black is certainly an option.
Let the PDK debate begin as well... I'm in two minds on this one but my current shoulder injuries and me wanting my wife to drive the car makes me lean towards PDK.
Another question... I'm not hot on the ducktail but quite like the split front spoiler. Anyone know whether it'll be available as an option in the US?
BTW, I can change the spec until October 14th.

The new 911 Carrera S $96,400

You sold your GT3!? I can't tell you how many times I've looked back at all the threads you've made just so I can gawk over the beautiful pictures you've taken of it, specifically the winter ones. Perfection is achieved with a Black 997 GT3.
I hope you're feeling 100% from your accident, and I can't wait to see the wonderful winter pictures you'll take when your 991 arrives!
I like that you're going silver, such a classic colour. I think that you should go manual too.
And if you don't like the ducktail but like the front splitter there is an option, Sport Design front bumper, which has the sport design front without the ducktail. But as you mentioned, I'm not sure if or when it would be available in the U.S, but the Configurator says nearly every other market has it, so I don't know.

So now it's back to 4 wheels! Much safer.
The 991S, hmmm I need to really think about dropping the PDK. I am capable of lifting my left arm to 50% of normal and should regain almost all use by the time the car turns up. I will also check with the dealer about the sport design front bumper.
Hehehe... that clip for sure explains a lot of my feelings towards the cute f^%^kers! The other evening we counted 40+ from our yard.
Yes the PDK choice was primarily due to my injury which is, I hope, temporary. Your preference and reason would certainly be interesting.
