Like you said because of your injuries and wife wanting to drive pdk is the better choice.

Not a fan of those wheels though. I prefer the first set in the config set up. Nice spec though.

What will the focus of the new car be? Weekend track toy or nice daily driver?

If you do heal quickly enough to drive manual and end up dumping PDK, then get this instead:
2010 Porsche 911 GT3, $121,900 - Cars.com

It's the same price and more fun.

Will just be a fun weekend car but will also be a car we can occasionally doing some travelling with.

I've done the GT3 thing and loved it but know that I want something a bit less strenuous (especially for longer distances) to drive.

Agreed with dropping PDK. I'd add the ducktail, too. It'll look awesome. Silver/Blue is a great combo - very classic German scheme. I've seen tons of older Mercedes and Porsches in silver/blue. Classy...

If you're not 100% certain you will make a full recovery sooner than later, I'd opt for PDK. Especially if your wife will drive once in a while.

Ignore the "manual purists"... get what works for you.

Happy to hear you're recovering well! PDK seems like a good fit for your needs.
