Estimate price drop for 997 when 991 releases?
given how a 996 could be brought for around 40-50 grand, how much of a price difference would a 997 be once the 991 releases? i know it's impossible to accurately assume, any speculation within reason would be helpful.

997s can be had now for $50K. Not a big deal. They certainly won't plummet like 996s... If a 996 bottoms out around $20K, then a 997 won't go lower than $30K. I suspect there'll be a bunch of nice 997s (for driving, not collecting) in the $40K range for a long time.

All of these "regular" Porsches drop like rocks (trust me, I've suffered it). If you wait another 6-12 mos, that car will be in the low $70K range. To get it into the $50K range, you'll have to wait another couple of years.
