Got carbon fiber wrap on the hood today.

I did the exact same thing to my Meteor Grey 997. Some could argue a little boy-racer'sh or trying to emulate the GT2RS.
My goal was more as of function. I chemically "melted"/ "fogged" my clear-bra cleaning tire-beads from the hood with Goo-Gone.
When I sought to replace it the 3M Dinoc Carbon Fiber Film had recently become available and was priced the same for a full hood cover as was the lower third of the clear-bra. So I thought I would experiment and went with the CFF. I ultimately did the roof too.
It's been on for about 18 months and I'm about to remove it. Here's why:
-the boy-racer'sh look is getting tired for me.
-the 3M brand did not come wide enough requiring a second piece; therefore there is a tiny seam. However the material has essentially shrunk and the seam is noticeable. This would be largely irrelevant for versions that actually cover the entire hood.
-Worst part: It has to stay "wet". It is bizarre that as the material ages you essentially have to armor-all it. I use Meguires exterior black plastic conditioner (forget the name) which works excellently; until it get wet and runs on the glass body. It's a pain to clean.
-Lastly: installation. It is remarkably resilient to install (with a hair dryer) and easier than the soap/ alcohol mixture with 3M. Despite my many clear bra installations under my belt it is still different and my installation has a few flaws which simply grind at me.
It works well as a clear bra alternative and is easily as tough. However it is coming off.

The roof section also helps protect from my roof rack base.

THIS!!... I'm liking this idea too, though I'm going to stick with the contrast and do a matte hood, maybe roof....

Which brand did you get (or where did you get it)? I've been a fan of 3M products which are typically high quality. The material is extremely durable however over time even soap & water have taken its toll.

Sorry, don't like it. It ruins the classic look and flow of the Carrera.
On a Porsche, I'd say gross, but on a Crossfire, it would look great!
