Going under the wrench

On December 9th, I picked up my first 911. It's a 2003, 6-speed, black with 19,500 miles on it at time of purchase in Florida. It now has 21,200 miles on it, 1,000 of which being my drive back to Kentucky. With the low mileage and intermittent, pleasure-only driving from the previous owner, I deemed this vehicle to be a perfect candidate for IMS failure. That said, I've elected to act now, do the preventative maintenance in hopes of avoiding the "engine go boom" result of your IMS going out.

Friday, I dropped my vehicle off at a specialist in Cleveland, Ohio to undergo the following surgery:

-RMS
-IMS Retrofit (LN Engineering)
-Air/Oil Seperator
-New Plugs
-Oil Change

Hopefully some pictures will be taken during the process and I'll be happy to post them if I get them. I will keep you all posted with progress.

Thanks! I just didn't want to have to listen to every single sound every time I drove it and wonder if it means something... For what we invest in these cars, new or used, it's no fun constantly worrying about them (I'm half Italian, that's what we do)

I'm thinking that Proactive > Reactive, especially when reactive would cost probably 5 times more!

No sir...I have a '03 Black C2 with PSE, 6 speed. I was always under the impression that any dealer wouldn't do a non-oem IMS retrofit...since there isn't an oem retrofit. I'm going LN Engineering...
