Classic Turbo S SharkWerks Stage II with Europipe Exhaust & Champion Wheels

This black on black 2005 997 Carrera came into us in stock form and over the course of a few visits blossomed into a completely different looking, sounding and performing Shark-a-fied project. On tap for performance was the EVOMSit software, EVO V-Flow Intake, Tubi Exhaust and SharkWerks Light-weight Flywheel conversion. To spruce her up some the TechArt Type II rear wing was chosen along with the TechArt Type 1 front lip, side skirts, roof spoiler and mirror covers (both in carbon). We also install a set of TechArt lowering springs and the LED day-time running light conversion as well.

There she is awaiting surgery:

First up we remove the stock exhaust. On goes the Tubi exhaust saves about 30 pounds of weight off the back but what's really impressive is the sound. Nothing else sounds quite like it!

Next up is the EVOMS V-Flow intake system (also dishes out a neat engine wail). We also calibrated the ECU for 91 octane with the EVOMSit software:

In goes the 20mm lowering spring kit:

The SharkWerks lightweight flywheel was also added for quicker revs and better acceleration. Here's a video showing the LWF kit's features:

Over to the body, first step was to attach the side skirts and mirror inserts, as they would need to dry overnight.

Then James has to remove the front bumper cover for the major surgery.

The LED light modules from TechArt's DRL kit are installed in the front bumper cover:

Along with the wiring in order to make it function with factory ignition / key-on:

Using hand tools and bulk wire mesh, he then fabricated some protective screens to keep leaves and other debris from getting stuck in the bumper cover sides:

The bumper is re-installed along with the TechArt front lip:

The DRLs are subtle from the front, but when looking straight on (ie in your rear view mirror or coming at it head-on) they are very bright.

Here's a video showing the DRL kit installed on a 997TT to give you an idea of the brightness:

The TechArt roof wing is a nice touch and especially in carbon fiber on a black car:

Next we disassemble the rear wing element in order to install the TechArt Type II wing kit:

With the wing installed here's a rear-view:

The finished article and ready to go home:
