997.2 : Upgrade from standard to adaptive bi-xenon headlights

Was at the Porsche dealer today while waiting for our car to arrive and found out that all the 997.2's in the showroom was wearing the new adaptive bi-xenon headlights, an option that our car doesn't have.

I was wondering if it was possible to swap the regular ones, to the new adaptive headlights? I've found a few used sets on eBay in Germany.

Anyone done it? This will be mainly for looks, so it really doesn't matter if the adaptive feaure works.

See the difference? The headlight on the right is from a 997.1 but the 997.2 has the same ones unless you've checked the option.

Should be pretty straightforward to just swap them over. I'd worry about the connectors being different but I'm sure there are adapters out there that could fix that for you.

F,
i checked all possible routes & think it should be just an easy swap with some tester coding. the function would still work since the motor is inside of the light housing. i did see my tech playing with the tester option that's available for the ''headlight.'' just that we didn't have a donor car.

i should be doing the same experimental swap pretty soon if everything goes smoothly.

Awesome Arling, let me know! Our car won't be driven untill March when snow melts so I will patiently wait, thanks again for hooking me up with springs also!

BTW Tell me more about your future 911, what are the plans?

Newbie, first post

Love this forum from what I've read so far.
Would sure like to know the outcome as I have had the same change in mind with my C4S.

Even if the motor is in the assembly, wouldn't the software require a change/tweak to accommodate the functionality?

Understand that to the OP, doesn't matter if it werks or not, but would be great if it did.

yes, so i actually had a tech plug in the tester to run the coding for the front control module. all the selections are there. we just didn't have the right cars to try if it works. give me about 2 weeks. i'll have an answer for u guys one way or another.
