Never realized how much I missed a manual

Just picked up a 2010 C2S coupe. So happy to drive a stick again. Have not had one from any manufacturer in about two years. 430 was F1. M5, M6 were SMG. My C4S cab was PDK. My GTR was a double clutch. My 7 and ML63 were auto. Even the SLS is a double clutch. The shifting just makes the driving experience so much more involving. No doubt that a PDK is a more useable daily driver, and also no doubt that I can drive a quicker lap with a PDK car, but there is such a pleasure being more involved in the shifting and the timing of the engagement and disengagement of the clutch. In a PDK, 90% of the time I just drive auto. In a 6 speed, I tend to hold the gears way longer than in any automated transmission. Even in my SLS, I rarely put it in manual because the auto works fine and is just as quick if not quicker than the auto mode, but the actual control of the gears and the clutch is just more exciting for me. My wife was always ragging on me when I had my PDK cab and rarely drove it. She said that a Porsche should be a manual. Now I can't keep the keys away from her!

Great choice. Nothing like rowing through the gears yourself, it is just so much more involving and makes driving so much fun!

Congrats on the new C2S as well!

picked up a new GT3 this monday, following an M3 (DKG) and a Carrera S (Tiptronic), and realized too how much manual is so much of a total driving experience... never again...

Congrats!

I agree with you, there is a certain feeling every time you release the clutch and put it into gear. I loved my 2009 C2S PDK, but the next one is certainly gonna be a manual!
