It may be a long ways away but I can bet you there will still be a flood of renderings and spy video for all those that like to speculate! Autoblid tells us that Porsche plans new generation models in 2011 with the Boxster and Cayman, and the new Porsche 911.

That's funny, last night I had a nightmare that Porsche merged with Mercedes, and they axed the 911, and instead of making the Boxster/Cayman, the renamed some Mercedes the Boxster/Cayman. It was horrible.

Mercedes and Porsche have worked in the past, and it WAS NOT a nightmare. Quite the opposite.

When Audi and Porsche work together you get this:

Mercedes and Porsche make this (note the driver's spectacular German-spec 'stache!):

No, this was worse. I went to the Porsche site, and there was a new 928. Cool. Then all of the rest of the cars were big, fat, ugly, and had absolutley NO Porsche design DNA. Anyway, when Merc and Porsche worked together it was cool.

Besides that, I can't WAIT for the new 911!!

Yeah, the '09s came out in 2008... Time flies. I'll keep the one I've got until I can ante up for a GT3 or possibly a 911 GTS.
