It's still a long ways away - New 911 will debut at IAA Frankfurt, September 2011

But, if you noticed, the Panamera took on the fascia cues of the 997.2, and the new Cayenne took on a whole new fascia, similar too the Boxster's. The rounded air intakes with flat DRLs positioned above are the future for Porsches. So, I'm guessing when the Panamera facelift is revealed, it will have styling cues from the Cayenne. We'll probably see the Panamera facelift shortly after the new 911.
If you look very closely at the spyshots, the new fog lamps above the air intakes look shockingly similar to the 997.1's, only they are more rounded off, and LEDs of course.
What gets me though is how dated the 997 made the 996 look, and I can't imagine the 997 looking dated.

^the reason the 996 looks and feels dated is because of its.....well awful looks. There's a reason why the 993 and everything pre 993 don't have a dated feel or as much of a dated feel. The 997 wont feel too old IMO.

I think the 996 looks really nice. It doesn't look too dated, but up to Porsche standards, it seems dated in terms of technology, but I still love the 996.
