Any 997 owners tempted to order facelift?

I love my 997 C4S, it's in pristine condition and is running beautifully. However, with all this facelift talk and the prospect of DSG, more power, better nav, greater this and more of that.... I'm tempted to place an order for the '09. Question is, am I falling into the marketing department' trap ? I have to be frank... I think I may also be experiencing some degree of "latest is bestest and therefore must havest" syndrome.

Comments please...anyone else in my boat?

I would wait to see exactly what the facelift will deliver before ordering. Aside from the PDK release, I just don't think the changes will be mind blowing.

That being said, my next car is going to be a TT and I will likely wait to see what the PDK transmission brings to the table before ordering.

Hello Haku, glad to see another rennteamer !!!, this feels like home !!!

We sold the 9974S, some months ago, and now we are thinking for the FL or get a 997S in the next weeks.....

Still I dont know what will do

Our dealer is a big friend of us, and he swears first deliveries will be in September, but most of the people here say it will be in June.....

Facelift is minor.... The Horsepower increase and new transmission is major....
Taking a Audio/GPS system from a VW is annoying....

I will get the FL 997S, just because I get a new car every 3-4 yrs anyway and I'll be due next year. But I don't think the improvements will seem all that meaningful. Sure it will be nice to have a few extra ponies and to get 1-2MPG better gas milage. But I'm not interested in PDK so that takes away really the only real big change. To be honest, the thing that excites me the most about getting a new 997S is ordering it with all the goodies I want.

Until Porsche confirms what is included in the face lift, it is too early to make a decision. That being said, the visual changes are minor and does not make me want to change. PDK is of interest to me, but I would not buy the first generation of it. So really the only motivation could be a significant bump in hp.
