Questions for the knowledgeable.

I'm interested in a Targa C4s. It will be pre-owned for the obvious value reasons. Options ideally would be Seal/Quartz/Meteor, 6MT, scp, full leather black/tan, heated seats, thicker multi function wheel, deviating carpet, maybe nav, crests in adaptive seats. Maybe some leather tidbits and a matt black center console.

I an interested in a wing but would want it to be somewhat subdued. I guess the aerokit retrofit would be pricey so that will have to be looked at more closely.

I know that the Targa is rarer and that could mean I wait a while but might also correlate with a lower price due to lower demand.

Wife is insistent that 911 be awd so that it can be driven year round with appropriate snows which are sometimes ugly.

Questions:
1-Can good all seasons get me through lighter snows? (Denver's weather is unpredicatable but this winter is very mild) I can drive her RX330 when the snows get ugly since she works from home. Or is another wheelset with snows necessary?

2-Would like to get a CPO for comfort and piece of mid but if I found an original owner selling their Targa, could that get CPO'd?

3-DME scan and the PPI should help ensure that my sample will be good? Could an independent shop perform both of these?

4-Any Littleton 6SO'ers here that would take me for a spin in their Targa? Local dealer's selection is quite limited as would be expected.

Thanks for the input. I found the previous poststhat I read (111 pages going back to 4/6/08) very helpful. I like to research quite thoroughly prior the jumping in.

Regards

I'll handle Q1 for you.
If you live where it gets below 40F for extended periods of Winter regardless of snowfall, you should really get a separate set of winter wheels and tires.
Some of us use 18" set ups for this as the variety of snow tires is greater (and much cheaper).
The normal ("summer") rubber is like a hockey puck when the temperatures drop and you will have no traction or cornering.

And BTW, welcome to TS!

Answer to number 2...

CPO is only available through a used car purchase from a Porsche dealership, or via transfer from a private party. Any vehicle with CPO that is subsequently sold to a non Porsche dealership will have its CPO warranty voided. If you have purchased a vehicle via a private party, and it is not CPO'ed, a dealership will not "CPO" it for you.

Q3. Definitely get a PPI with a DME scan for piece of mind, EVEN if you are buying from a P dealer and even if it is CPO'd... Good indy shops ie. Farnbacher Loles and others can perform them no problem. Ask around. So can P dealers obviously.
