As a Porsche dealer in Wisconsin I can attest to the C4 and Turbo's capability with a good set of snows. I have a client with a A8W12, Cayenne Turbo, S4 Avant and a X5. His fatorite winter driver? 2008 Turbo on Conti's. We have at least a dozen year round 997's.

ABSOLUTELY invest in another set of rims and dedicated snow tires. Then you can truly exploit the car's potential in the winter. I have a couple rear engined, rear drive cars, and with snow tires on them they are invincible!

Dude, I am going to be in SD and OC next week (leaving Saturday) - I'll be partaking in the weather in my rental Mustang or Z.
