VF supercharger? - another "should I buy this" thread

Thanks Tom. You bring up a great point, I haven't gone for a ride in an SC 997 yet. I just assumed with all that extra power that it would push me into my seat when I floor it. The 997 doesn't do that, the GT-R did but it's ugly (but that's another story)...
If I don't do the SC I'll do the ECU next and probably some headers-- maybe.

As for the ECU, well you're definitely going to need to install the VF software when you install the kit. That's non-negotiable, it won't run right without it.
As for headers, exhaust, and intake....well, you don't have to install them, but in order to realize the true potential of the supercharger, I would almost say that they are a 'must' as well. The difference those items make in performnace is noticeable even on a naturally aspirate P-car, and that difference will be amplified with the addition of a blower.

Don't get me wrong....I personally think that all cars should be boosted, and nothing makes me giggle more then the sound of a supercharger, especially coming from a Porsche!

Honestly I'm not sure what real gains there are but it certainly sounds good and has been very effective in lightening my wallet at the same time.

Ha Tunner, damn you. I'm shopping for a used Lambo G... I figured if I'm about to sink another $10k into my car I should consider upgrading. If it falls through I'll probably shop for a used SC. Decisions, decisions. I like what you guys did with that black Gallardo w/ yellow wheels...
