After seeing/hearing about your current relationship with your car I think you should sell your car and buy a ready to go race car. Reason being, you don't drive your 997 on the street that much anyway and sometimes just leave it with Synergy. Will you really miss it if you couldn't drive it anymore?
The "slower" race car option will probably only hold you over for a little while before you start craving more power. I think you should do it right the first time, and do it all the way if you can. No regrets.
P.S.- I heard the kid that lives in that house still doesn't have his permit yet.
