Do you really have a GT2? Someone that I trust implicitly tells me that the 997 GT2 is the end-all, game over winner. So, if you DO have the GT2 and are being a bit 'tongue in cheek' because I talk like the 3.8SC is the way to go, please know that I agree with you, though through a friend's experiences.

I also want to explain that, like all other things, the mod-bug is a slippery slope. I have $175k in my car as it sits NOW, plus another $30k of stuff that's in my garage that I don't use anymore. I'd rather have just had a GT2 probably, though I'd do some things to minimize lag to zilch, even sacrificing HP.

That is just Jon's avatar. If you started off with a GT2 then what would you have done with all the free time you spent on modding your C2S

Good question! I'd probably be at the track more!

But when I bought my car, (March 2006) there was no 997 Turbo, no GT3, no GT2. And I wanted a seven. So it was the bad-boy on the block and I did what I could with it.

I've often thought that going the route you've gone might be the best for anything other than pure acceleration. You'd have the RWD feel, lightness and agility of the lighter C2 platform, more power than a GT3, and a PSM safety net when you want it. My only hesitation is the fear that the SC engine would have the same feel as the GT3, as in plenty of power up top, but a bit gutless at low to mid rpm, the exact place you find yourself in some corners, where you're too fast for 2nd gear, but bogging a bit in 3rd.
I did some research to best answer your question, PMac. First of all, we need to talk about constraints though. With dynos, no one is ever the same, no day is the same. So, we can only look at the overall numbers as generalities. However, we can more accurately understand power delivery and smoothness, as well as torque curves and such, by reading these dynos. I found the GT3 dyno chart on 6speed. It's a totally stock car. My dyno sheet is the other one. It is not my best, but it's the best one I have. My external drive is wasted. I lost lots of good stuff. Anyways, mine actually makes about 25-30 more HP and slightly less than the same amount more in TQ. By the 15% loss math, my car had 471HP on this day.

My car:

Stock 997 GT3:

Hope this helps.

It must be because of denial. I'm still waiting for the magazine article...

Honestly, I really badly want to get one of these and the only thing holding me back is the warranty. When that's gone, all bets are off, but I have another 2+ years left. The price is not bad at all, I just don't want it to break on me after I drop $15k on the kit/install. You are such a bad influence!
