It does not matter if it is 8 or 6 or 4 or 1... It is the power, torque and refinement at the end of the day.... Better gas mileage is a plus for all in terms of eco friendly.....

Sounds like it could be cool. Porsche started with 4 cylinders, and it could be pretty fun if they keep it light enough.

Before everyone gets all upset about this, let's not forget that the 968 was a 3.0l four banger and was actually a pretty sweet little car for what it was. I doubt a four banger would go in the 911 but the Gayman and Coxster for sure.

But wait a minute... a Beetle was called a "Poor man's Porsche".... does this mean that a 4 banger Porsche could be called a "Rich man's Beetle"???

I would love to see a petite version of the 911 with no rear seats and a 4 banger. That would be an awesome car! Problem is no one except the diehards would get it : (
