Trivia Question for Turbo Lovers
Did the 2003 996TT have black (unfinished) bumperettes or painted bumperettes? Note that the 996 Carrera started with the painted bumperettes in 2002. Thanks.

Steve, I don't believe they were ever painted as standard from the factory. I know this because I was looking into a Turbo S for my uncle, and all the ones I went and test drove had unpainted black crinkle finish bumperettes.
Similarly, all the 996TTs that I can think of off the top of my head that come through our shop have had unpainted bumperettes.

When WE painted them for our customers! 
Well, the Carrera standard variant went to the plastic cap painted in '02 model year. The Turbo stayed with black rubber until the 997 was released.
And yes, we still paint the black rubber, day in and day out, to absolute perfection. Wonder how Porsche made the decision to go to a painted look.
