Porsche 960 midengine supercar getting closer to production

It's getting even closer to a production model! This thing looks like a beast!

Featuring four turbochargers, two intercoolers, four adjustable camshafts, a complex multistage intake manifold, and dual-stage exhaust, the 3.9-liter engine is expected to deliver 650 hp.

All-wheel drive made the cut and adds close to 200 pounds but earns its keep by getting the power to the ground — 0 to 60 mph allegedly takes only 2.5 seconds.

Porsche 960 supercar set to trump Lambo and Ferrari

Kind of silly to do a render off a stock 12c press photo. ;-) What's the source of this info other then the past few years of articles on this?

Does this image look familiar ?

n/m found it - Deep Dive: Porsche 960 Update - Automobile Magazine

That being said, this would be a cool looking car though, I just would have changed the background and more of the 12C detail before going live with it

A quad-turbo flat-eight? I'll believe it when I see the press release.

Quad turbo flat-8 that barely pips the GT2 for hp and doesn't outdo the turbo S for 0-60?

Sure.

A quad-turbo flat-8 sounds nice. Faster than a hypothetical 991 GT2 RS? Hmm...

Guess the days of great sounding high-output NA engines are truly gone. Kind of like the Constitution in America. It was great while it lasted.

Yeah - didn't even occur to me that it was a render. I't looked familiar though. Funny how easy it's to reproduce images and create a rumour/fakes
