991 Turbo? No! RUF Rt35 Testdrive.

What a great test, many thanks for sharing
This is classic Ruf and what he does best, bring out the turbo in the latest chassis before Porsche themselves, awesome
Just one thing still worries me, it's the pesky 9A1 turbo motor, I know its now been around for a couple of years and been tuned up to 650 or so hp but when I see the video showing the PDK changing up at no more than 6400rpm it makes me nervous for this engine.
I know Porsche would say it changes up there because that is the shape of the power curve and torque falls off dramatically over 6500rpm (and I've seen the curves and this seems to be the case) but in 2012/13 a high end sports car engine which only revs to 6400rpm just seems a little fishy

Fully agree..Im also wondering how he went to 650HP..and what was really changed in the engine itself. I talked to a guy from Porsche factory once and he told more or less the limit of 9A1 engine..this is above it. 6400rpm - ok - but dont forget its a turbo..im curios how high it will rev as GT3...to be on parr with the Mezger GT3 it MUST at least run at 9000rpm without any issues..the 997.2 GT3 softly started red line at 8500rpm..and this was still set passively. And that it can do 9000rpm without any pain - we will see - but from what I heard - it will be slightly below 997.2 GT3 levels in terms of rpm..but we will only be able to know that in March/April 2013.
However, if I want a 991 - this is the one. The back looks much better then the stock one..everything on this car almost looks great. Well done RUF..and green metallic was always my favorite..
