Who keeps their Turbo beyond warranty??
#41
I have an 01 996TT and it has not been covered since I have had it. (2009) Mine has been modified by Protomotive to over 700hp. Upgraded suspension, wheels, fuel, inner-coolers, turbos etc..
I participate in auto cross, Porsche DE's and drive it regularly. While I do have only 60K+ miles, it has been flawless! I know of other modified 996's with over 200k miles and very minimal parts failure.
I can't really comment on the newer 997's with the yet to be proved blocks, but the older turbo's are ROCK SOLID!

I really enjoy my car. Now, that I've released it ... and added the black HREs, I'm pretty happy where I am with the car and only 16.5k on the clock.
I'll see where the car is when the "new Turbo" breaks in a couple years. Perhaps I'll be moved to do a new car ... or, keep what I have. After all ... 500+ ponies is nothing to toss to get 50 more, eh.
