How many miles do you have on the car, 997C?

Are you the original purchaser?

Let me see if I have this correct ....

I lease my 997 Turbo cab. Lease is up in a couple months, but still have remaining 6 months of the factory warranty.

I'm planning to 're-lease' my car for another 3 years. I understand it can be CPO'd, too. If so, I think I get another 3 year warranty from Porsche. Correct?

I realize that I'll have to cough up around 3 grand to have the car CPO'd .... but, I guess that would extend the original warranty (until the new Turbo comes out).

One more thing .... seems the buy out on my contract differs from what is on the payment stub. If the car is CPO'd at the end of the original lease, wouldn't the new lease be based on the contract buy out ... plus cost of the CPO?

Tomorrow, I'm picking up my '09 Turbo for another 3 years. Re-leased. The cost per month will drop a grand, saving me $36K over 3 years vs $10K for a new S cab. Plus, you can't runt the Turbo. The S will always be the smaller dog .... unfortunately. But, a very BIG dog nonetheless.

So, had all the service done, tint repaired, alignment, brake fluid flush (who does this on a 'normal car'?) and CPO'd. It'll cost me 3 grand, but I'm fine with that. I'm sure the wiper blades will be over $100.

HRE's coming in a week or so, too. Waiting 6 weeks is a bummer. Who waits this long for wheels? I finally emailed and got a tentative delivery time some time in the next couple weeks. Very long wait time, indeed.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to driving the car another 3 years ... then picking up a new Turbo when it finally breaks cover. Prolly year 2ish.

My 08 Turbo is 4 years old now - had it from factory. No issues other than replacing the front rads after about 2 years. I invalidated my warranty after 50 miles from afternarket wheels, then powerkits, then suspension upgrades. I have a saved a fortune on not taking out extended warranties after 2 years as the car has been bulletproof.

Stuka and others: What do you all think about running a 2006 Cayenne Turbo S out of warranty? I'm looking at a well-maintained one with 20K miles on it. The only reason I haven't yet pulled the trigger is my concern about potentially large repairs that may be needed down the road.

What sort of warranty would be available for this vehicle?

Have you tried Warranty Direct yet? They were great to deal with for both my mil's 740 and my old M5.

I am reviving this thread as I am going to look at a 07' 997 TT. I will report on anything I find and ask as many Q's as possible.

Hyperdrive is an unknown quantity at this point
I have an 01 996TT and it has not been covered since I have had it. (2009) Mine has been modified by Protomotive to over 700hp. Upgraded suspension, wheels, fuel, inner-coolers, turbos etc..
I participate in auto cross, Porsche DE's and drive it regularly. While I do have only 60K+ miles, it has been flawless! I know of other modified 996's with over 200k miles and very minimal parts failure.
I can't really comment on the newer 997's with the yet to be proved blocks, but the older turbo's are ROCK SOLID!
