Turbo wheels and cost ... ?

Yes, everything is relative.
But, in reality a set of HREs and a new set of sneakers (who puts old rubber on new wheels?) will set you back close to $7500.
Reality is a bitch, eh.

u don't have to be tracking or racing the car to be able to notice the difference. u ask and doubt because u haven't experienced it. i encourage you to do it. pick a set of light wheel. very easy goal to achieve coming from stock wheel. u should notice the car brakes better, steers quicker, runs faster, yet looks hotter. GL!

You do get what you pay for. I paid over $6500 for the BBS FI but they're absolutely one of the best wheels I've ever gotten, bar none. I put them on the F car however. For my Turbo I got the GT3RS wheels which I think are one of the best OEM wheels from Porsche. Please be sure to post pictures of the new wheels on your car when you get them all sorted out. I'd love to see how those HREs look on midnight blue.

OK ... did some thinking and looking at wheels. Still think the satin black P43s will look terrific on my car.
I spent the morning at the Porsche dealer driving a new 991S and trying to see if it would displace my Turbo. Short answer .... No!
The 991 is better looking in person than in photos, but it is a bigger car. The 997 S sitting next to it looked like my 993 sitting next to my 997! Anyway, the car drove really well. Very planted even in sport plus mode at nearly triple digits. Couple hair pin on ramps might have upset my Turbo at the speed I was doing, but the 991 was very sure footed. I liked that. The PSE was pretty neat, to. Vastly better than the oem anemic exhaust my Turbo had (before I installed the Cargraphic Loud). Interior was nice, too. A bit better than my car.
However ... altho the 991 S had plenty of power, more than I expected, it did not compare with my Turbo with over 500 ponies. Still impressive, tho. But, I'll wait another couple years for the new Turbo to come out. I think I'd be disappointed in the power department if I "switched".
In the mean time, I'm gonna hook up some new wheels and sneakers. And, the 991 had 20" wheels with P-Zeros attached. Rode much better than my OEM 19s with the Stones Potenza 050RAs I have on my car. Why is that?
So, here is the question .... do I get 20s or stay with 19s? I don't track the car, just drive to work and some Slab. I've been told that 20s will ride terribly compared to the 19s. Not so with the 991 vs my 997 Turbo.
Any one with opinions, recommendations, experience with 19s and 20s? Thanx.

You have to keep in mind that the 991 was probably specifically tuned to work with those 20" wheels. It's just not the wheels that affects the way it handles/rides, it's the entire setup. So, I have a feeling if you were to go with 20" wheels then it won't improve the ride, quite the contrary it might actually make it worse.
I stuck with 19" wheels with mine but upgraded the entire suspension and it rides/handles MUCH better than stock. If I were you and I were looking for a way to improve the Turbo in that department then I'd forget about getting new wheels and focus on improving the suspension system itself.

as you`ve posted that your lease ends soon and you can write off the lease as business expenses I`d take a "step back"(even if it really isn`t) for a while and take a 991S for a while just to make a huge leap forwards with the next Turbo.
You can save yourself all the hassle, keep liquidity at the same level or higher, enjoy a new ride and get the new car sensation plus the waiting period excitement for the 991 Turbo at the same time
think about it

atomic80 ... I may do something with the suspension to lower the car, but don't think I'll spend the coin to do a full suspension upgrade. I'll have to look at what is available and what the results will be.
I upgraded the suspension on my 993 C4S a few years ago with HD Bilsteins and ROW springs and other bits. The car looked much better lowered from it's SUV height, and rode/handled better, too. Was not cheap. Tires/wheels were OEM.
Since I will prolly lease this car for another 36 months, doing a full suspension upgrade would not be practical. With tires/wheels and exhaust ... at least I can remove and re-sell these. Suspension cost would be totally lost. Unless I bought the car and re-sold it myself. I hate that ... and a 6-7 year old Turbo with mods and no warranty is not worth much. Cost to replace a turbo, or some other item is 'spensive.
ECB ... as much as I like the 991 S, it is not the car for me. Quite a bit less power than my Turbo. I like new things, but I'm also patient when it comes to cars.
Tossing some wheels and tires on my Turbo ... having it detailed ... will make it like a new car! It is a wonderful car, too.
There's really no hassle in having my car CPO'd ... give the dealer a couple grand and get a new 3 year (or whatever) warranty while I wait for the 991 Turbo in a couple years, or so. 500+ horse power under your right foot is always exciting, eh.
Thanx.
