Turbo wheels and cost ... ?

Call me 'price sensitive', but, I don't like spending BIG coin on something I don't need to.

Here's a question regarding wheels. I started looking at wheels for my '09 Turbo and was STUNNED when most of the wheels on the Porsche sites were $1000 - $1200+ EACH! Whoa ....

Can I find some neat wheels for my car that are like 20-22 lbs each for under a grand? I'd be willing to spend 2 grand for all 4, but not the $6200 + I've been quoted.

What's the deal here?

Might as well keep your stock wheels then...The cost to produce a set of good 3pc or 1pc wheels are almost what you're willing to spend...Best chance is to find a good set of used ones, somebody is selling cheap...

5 lug wheels.

Oh, and I was going to keep my stockers. I've always been luke warm with the Turbo wheels on the 997.1.

But, I really like the new spoke wheels that were available on the 997.2 and the new 991 ... the 991 has similar wheels with the Classic.

Don't go cheap on wheels...really. Buy a high quality product, and expect to pay.

I'm not sure what 'cheap' means, Eric ... I guess I can part with a grand+ per wheel (altho, I have take a breath doing so).

What do you gain from spending a crap load on forged wheels? I'm not tracking/racing the car. Just want a 'different' look.

I stlll like the new spokes on the Turbo and the 991 20s.

Keep your stockes, you get what you pay for in aftermarket wheels any wheels that are $500 each for a 997 Turbo will be utter crap.

I suppose you are correct regarding the prices. Still .... pricey bastads, eh.

I do likethe OZ Superforgiata Forged that run just under a grand each from TR. And, the HRE P43s are similar in 'look' and run around $1350 a pop. (YIKES !!) Both in a matt graphite I think.

Hard to make these decisions. I'm better at choosing an entire car!

You could try to look for used GT2/GT3 RS wheels. I have no idea what the asking price is, but a good used set will really compliment the turbo.
