Has anyone here tried a e85 conversion?? Thanks in advance!

 

Proto and EvoMs r using E85 in Porsche cars.

 

My car is being converted as we speak with Switzer...

 

Mine is currently at Protomotive getting converted along with a complete rebuild. Think of it this way 116 octane equivalent at less than 87 Octane prices.

 

i like that deepblue how about the dreaded maf probs??? can you please tell me the cost

 

I don't have the car back yet and the costs are part of a huge motor rebuild including new turbos, IC's, intake, TB, MAF etc...however, the fuel conversion will require new fuel pumps, new lines and new injectors. What we have found is that e85 will eat the regular lines and fittings over time, so all the rubber lines and fittings will need to be swapped out. I am guesstimating the new fuel system is about 5-7k parts/labor.

Seems expensive up front, but then $2.xx/gal vs $10-20/gal for race fuel, I will make up for the costs over time.

Haven't head much on the dreaded maf issue but can make some calls and so some research.

+1... subbed to hear results. Didn't know you had to swap out the entire fuel system.

 

Opps...Sorry just read the title...Mine is a 997...They should start tuning this week or next...

 

I think this is applicable to all 99x

Definitely update us on the tuning, did you have any other work done? If not, I would baseline and compare the differences, most of us would be very interested in the results.
