996TT price check
Sorry about this guys. I normally despise the 'price check' thread as I have no problem doing the research for my own cars. But this one is for a good friend and I don't know squat about 996's.
He's looking to trade a clean 05(?) C4S cab with 40,xxx miles for a supposedly pristine 2001 996TT (silver/black). I don't have much in the way of details, but it's a 6-speed and has about 5,000 (yes, 5,000
) miles on it. No known accidents/damage. Does not have the X-50 pkg to my knowledge.
Based on this limited info, what is a reasonable offer for this car, perhaps also taking into consideration the trade of the C4S? If more info is needed, please let me know and I'll get it. Danke.

Considering the low miles, if its stock and in virgin condition, I would say you would be looking at something around 52k for the 996tt...
The c4s should be worth around 40k depending on the condition, although, if its gonna be traded to a dealer, I would say 33k...
Best of luck to your friend!

EDIT: Dammit. Must spread rep before giving it to Pablo Escobar again

Options dont have a huge impact on prices for preowned 996tts...even the with the x50, you are usually only looking for an extra 3-4k$ (vs 18k$ new)...
Personally, I would go for a newer 03-05 vs 01 with slightly more miles and a good maintenance history. If hes gonna drive that '01 with 5k miles, the value will TANK in no time. Sad but true, 996tt dont get much respect on the used market. Unless he doesnt care about $...
Has he considered a high miles 997tt with good history? More cash but value will hold mucho better.
