997TT at speed?

I have a possibly stupid question but here it is.

I have taken my 997 up to about 170mph and I'll be honest, it was a squirelly floaty sob. I compare it to my Z06, which at 185, felt like it was on rails. My 996TT had similar "floaty" characteristics at speed.

My question is this. Does everyones car feel like this or is it just me? I see these videos of these guys running 200+ in a 997 and I just stare in awe. How the hell are they doing that? Big cajones?

So its not just me. I've always read about the high speed stability of a Porsche, but mine have always felt squirelly.

When I had my 996 TT I changed the suspension (PSS9's) and it was much better, IMO...

have you checked your alignment recently/ever? I hear a lot of the Gt3 guys have problems with it coming off the boat unfinished

This very likely could be your problem. Have your car aligned - mine is rock solid on the track at 165 mph

Eugene is right along with Craigger, I had mine aligned to GT3 specs with a few modifications when I had the PSS10 damptronics installed and it feels absolutely rock solid at high speeds. Just don't ask me where I tested it.

I feel way more on rails then I did in my Z. A hell of a lot quieter from the windnoise too.
