Clutch experience........

HI Guys,

I have to change the clutch.
I found company called clutch master, any of you have some experience with kits they offer?
I tried to ask for kit should I buy, I need it for everyday use and sometimes for Porsche Club events.
I thought that fx 300 should be the one but they wrote that Fx300 is only for street/trip races???

Thanks in advice,
Karol

This is my biggest fear . . . I am getting very good at working the manual but for the first few months it was touch and go. I hope mine lasts 10,000 more miles though.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Guys,

at present I'm driving with Sachs Ruf in combination with standard fly wheel.
My disc is without springs, that means it is on/off and dramatic shaking during slow starting, hope you know what I mean?
anyone knows something about clutchmaster? it is made in USA

w/o springs is unsprung disc = slightly unfriendly in traffic, still good
w/ springs is a sprung disc = smoother all around

how much HP are you running?

whatever you do, i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND deleting the clutch assist (assuming they're doing it for the 997tt, like they have for the 996tt.) probably the best mod i've done - the car is infinitely more driveable w/ tougher clutches and far more pleasurable racing around town.

"deleting the clutch assist" what do you mean? servo?
I think I will reach over 800Nm.

the clutch assist is (presumably) the hydrohaulics that make the clutch "easy" to push in. personally, i never really got the hang of driving the 996tt w/ this. i suffered through 20k miles or so w/ a race clutch. w/ the latest clutch change, we removed it, and it's so much easier to drive.

Unless you are racing, I highly recommend going with the springs.
