It's about time Porsche caught up with iPod and Bluetooth support.

P.S. Eric, I received the Dension unit from you for iPod support in my Cabrio, thanks again!

Thank you for sharing, PDK sounds terrific with the faster 385hp 3.8L's.

I figured they were going to add the launch assist to the full model range. Should make the acceleration times a bit more uniform among the car mags!

Can someone explain how the launch assist works with a manual tranny? I'm clueless on this. Thx.

The excerpt below is from the Porsche website describing the launch assistant that is on the GT2 (they've now relabeled it start-off-assistant). In the GT2 model, depressing the clutch and accelerator will allow boost to develop (it somehow is loading the engine), release the clutch and the TC does the rest for maximum and consistent launching.

"Another major innovation is the use of Start-off Assistant for the first time ever in a road-going Porsche. The system is designed to maximize acceleration from a standing start. To activate the function, simply depress the clutch and accelerator pedals. When a boost pressure of approximately 13 psi is displayed in the instrument cluster, release the clutch as quickly as possible and maximum acceleration automatically ensues."

PDK sounds BLAH! (well not if it takes over the monkeytronic/auto gearboxes) but we still need our manuals.
