I think I'm ordering the Turbo S

teo different cars
You either want a Ferrari or a Porsche - They are different animals -
The California, its beautiful. Its expensive. I came back to Porsche and specifically the Turbo S partly because of the "value" you get with Porsche.
The Ferrari is stunning and performs as good as anything else out there. The Turbo S is fast, but where can you really use the speed if you are driving on the streets.
You mentioned that the California is $70K more - the ones I was looking at were about 220K so, my Turbo S was about 180 - 40K different - not enough to make it unreachable, but 40K is enough coin to make me think about the decision.
h20skier is right - people think a 911 is a 911 - they dont realize the difference between the models. GT's included :-).
The Ferrrari - it will turn heads and get questions everywhere. If that's what you want, go for it, becasue the porsche will not even turn the head of a cop as you pass by.
The Turbo S is by far the best car I have ever driven and owned. This includes my previous Ferrari. You will have big big service costs with the Ferrari - anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar.
Also, the Ferrari isnt all wheel drive - something which I like for my cars for where I live. I think they may be coming out with a awd system soon for the Maserati Quattroporte - maybe it will transfer to F-cars.
I think you have to buy the one you love - dont settle and dont think you'll be happy with the Porsche if you really want a ferrari. Nothing is like a Ferrari.

just so you guys know I was just asking Jon "why" Turbo S>California.
I agree (ouch) with ASG it's a different animal all together. I was just asking if Jon had driven one yet. Very surprising vehicle and KILLs it's competition. Aston's, MB's in the GT forum.
I will say people notice the gt3 and gt2 class of 911 over the others. I've owned too many and the standard 911 just doesn't get the nod the other gt cars do by the peoples. Even my original (Atlas Grey) Turbo S just didn't get any attention.

I have not driven a California.
I just said TurboS>California based on my personal opinion from other reviews I read and my person preference. If I had a choice between the two I'd pick the TurboS. But I'd get it in white

Only an idiot would do that.
You don't need to order it. The TTS isn't exactly flying off the shelves and I'll bet you can find dealer inventory that matches your needs.
I'm starting to quite like it. With a tune, exhaust and a drop I think it will be a dd monster.

Turbo S is better than my Scud on the road. For a daily driver, better than anything I have. On the track: CGT, GT3RS, Scud and Turbo S -- in that order -- for fun factor. On the track: CGT, Turbo S, Scud and GT3RS -- maybe a three way tie for fastest around (with me driving). California wouldn't be in the hunt except for top down crusin' or impressing the ignorant, if that's important to you.

For daily driving, I'd take the TT-S anyday.

I agree BB thats why I like white cars. they blend better. I will say that the California blends better than any other Ferrari. The turbo s blends as well as any 911 except the GT's The kids that chase you down tend to be harmless but 1 in 20 have no clue.
