Lastly - when I had my Coupe - this was never a question. I used to call it a snowmobile. It really is - but the cab - just seems more fragile - I dont want to clean tree sap off my cab roof - but my coupe roof, no sweat. We get lots of tree branches falling in my office parking lot too when it rains like this - dont need any issues.

Cars, and specialty cars like a Turbo S Cab, all have an intended purpose and should be used with care. I decided to drive my G55 today - just made more sense as its intended to be used in all weather.

TSAR - would you drive a 550 Barchetta or the new Boxter spyder in the Rain? It is just a car right?

Agreeing with Al I have at least a half dozen clients running their Turbo's on snows in Wisconsin. Funny story, my buddy Bob has a house in Winterpark Co area and a place here in Madison. Flys back and calls me to help him out and jump one of his cars. It's snowing, probably four inches on the ground.

Mind you he has a Cayenne Turbo, a X5 4.8, A8 W12 and A S4 Avant all on snow tires in the garage. The car I have to jump...The 2008 Turbo. As I am laughing my ass of lugging the jump box out of my car he says "but it's the most fun out of all of them in the snow".

"If you owned one you would know", I think you have some excellent owner and dealer expertise on this thread. Some pretty heavy hitters expressing their opinon here.

As for the mirrors - Exterior mirrors, NEVER get them wet!

My really crappy weather car has ranged from a 1999 Jeep GC to a 2005 Porsche CTT to now a Audi Q5. But, NOTHING comes close to tooling around in the turbo in fresh powder.

Thanks for the laugh today. I don't know which was funnier, what I just quoted or you thinking Jox was serious about the mirrors. People in Europe must never get to drive their cars because of the weather. Now you are talking about driving strictly convertible cars in the rain and comparing it to a car that has a roof?

Can you share some impressions of the Q5 maybe in a different thread. I'm very interested in that car.
