997 TT + Ford GT = FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally convinced my neighbor to go out for a drive.

His 2005 Ford GT has 375 miles on it ( travesty ). We took the GT out for a 40 mile jaunt. He drove the 1st 20 miles, me the last 20. Then I let him drive the TT for 20 miles ( not as spirited as we had my 2 y.o. daughter in the back seat : ) )

It was my 2nd go around in a GT: It was a monster!!!!!! The acceleration was just smashing. I felt the clutch pedal to be moderate, the take-up point was perfect and much easier for me to adjust to than it was for him to find the same point on the TT. The steering was quick, but not over-booster at all. The brakes were super for the street, but i have no clue how they work on a track.

Seats were "o.k.", shifter was easy to use, entry / egress was hideous ( hit my head on the door again ). Vision from the drivers seat is only adequate in the forward direction.

VERDICT: 997 TT ZERO camera phone pics in 20 miles.
Ford GT no fewer than 8 pics during our drive.

If i had an extra $150k lying around, I might consider one.
B

Haha. Nice writeup. Got my first ride in a FGT a few weeks ago. Didn't have the pleasure of driving it, but the acceleration was plenty fierce from the passenger side.
As I was getting out, the owner said "watch your head". I was like, "yeah, yeah". BAM. That door is a menace!

I definitely need a Ford GT in my garage some day. Thanks for sharing your driving experience with us.

Sounded like fun.

375 miles? Is he collecting it or just saving the miles for the next owner?

Love the Ford GT.

I've ridden in one, I must say that it was the most uncomfortable exotic car I've been in to date but the performance highly makes up for it.

I rode in a TT Ford GT with >1000 HP 2 weeks ago, felt very comfortable at 150-170 mph.
