I purchased a 911 Turbo last week. It's just great to get back into a Turbo again. Will post pics later during the week.


I purchased a few parts before I got the car. Mainly, wheels, Techart front and rear, and GT2 sides.

The wheels are 19" Work Brombracher. They look great, so went to install them today, and found out that the TPMS sensors would not fit the Work wheels

Apparently, the valve stem of the OE wheels are "straight", whereas the Work wheels have an "L" shaped valve stem (due to the lip). So there is a fitment issue of the sensor. They could have installed the wheels as is, but I would get the dreaded TPMS System Inactive error, and it would bug the hell out of me to have that. So now, I am back to my OE wheels, and awaiting an answer from the vendor who I purchased the wheels from (He's a good guy, and has been helpful before, so I hope we can get this sorted out).

Do you guys have any idea how I could go about this problem? Is there any way to add the TPMS sensor?

I would not add any of the exterior mods, unless I get these wheels on first.

Its has been a bittersweet weekend. I was really looking forward to slapping on the wheels today.

With a lot of aftermarket wheels, you'll have some difficulty using the OEM Porsche TPMS sensors due to differences in the valve stem designs. There's a chance that there may not be a way to get those to work. That's the bad news.

The good news is that there's a few good options for aftermarket TPMS sensors that will work perfectly with the built in TPMS in the car. If you need a hand, feel free to get in touch and we can help you sort something out.

Actually, something like this would be your best bet. You can retain the sensors you have, and it will only cost you around $75.

 

I had Techart Formula GTS wheels on my 997TT for a while and the TPMS was fine. I have HRE P43s now and the same is true.
