Radar and/or laser question

If there is no front license plate on a Scud which obviously has a fiberglass front bumper....can a radar gun or laser clock your speed from the front?

My thought is there is nowhere for it to be aimed at.

Thoughts ???

Radar certainly doesn't need a plate to get a speed reading, since they don't actually aim the radar gun like they do for laser.
With respect to laser, while the police may be trained to aim for the plate, I can't imagine that laser is rendered useless without having a plate to aim for, since there is still plenty of area for them to hit that will give them a good reading. The only benefit may be a slight delay in them getting a reading as they adjust their aim?? (just a guess on this part). Since laser is actually light, why wouldn't a shiny fiberglass bumper reflect the laser signal just like it would reflect light?

Windshields and headlights work as good targets as well.

EuroToy is an unknown quantity at this point
There are multiple ideal targets on the front of your car other than the front plate.

You can still get a reading off a painted surface as well, harder but not impossible.

Only thing saving you from laser is going to be a laser jammer (Blinder M27/47, only the best independent jammer) & radar detector (eg. GX65/STi/Redline/9500ix), or an all-in-one package (eg. Escort 9500ci). Check your local laws before using them.

Here in Alberta, we only need one plate on ALL our cars (just the rear plate), and that doesn't deter the cops from using laser (and radar). Lots of headlights, shiny paint, windshields or just close up. Jay's advice should be heeded. If you're speeding. LOL

Thanks for the explanations.

Don't know why I was under the false impression it needed to be aimed at the plate or some other metal surface to get a reading.
