Unlimited Autosport : Ferrari 430 upgrades

Here is a 2006 Ferrari 430 spider that a customer recently purchased. He had 4 issues with the car that he didn't like. First was the exhaust, 2nd was the ride height was to high, 3rd was the wheels were inset to much and the last was there was no paint protection film on the front. We set out to rectify these problems.

First up was the exhaust. We installed a Novitec Rosso unit which has a deeper more throatier sound then a Tubi or Capristo. The customer doesn't care for the higher pitched F1 sound the other brands make.

Next up was lowering the car and spacing the wheels for a respectable appearance. We went with a set of H&R lowering springs for the 430. The springs themselves drop the car 1.2" in front and .8" in the rear. We also installed a set of 15mm wheel spacers all around with the included longer wheel lugs to give the car a wider stance and make the wheels not tucked in so much. After installing the springs, spacers and setting the ride height we corner balanced the car and aligned it using the latest Hunter 4 wheel alignment rack.

Last up for this round of upgrades was the lack of paint protection on the front of the car. We fixed this problem by installing Avery Dennison Nano Fusion protection film on the full hood, full fenders, lower rocker panels, headlights and mirrors. Looks awesome! Did installing the springs alone gave lowered ride height? Or did you have to turn the stock suspension perches as well? Lastly, who makes the spacers? thanks

Installing the springs was not a quick swap. I had to re-adjust the ride height after installation because the factory perch location gave the car a higher ride height then stock. The spacers and lugs are sold by one of my distributors in Canada.

That exhaust sounds great at start up!
