That was a bit anti-climactic lol I was expecting a lot more positivity in the review, but I'll take honesty over anything. Do you think driving it on a circuit would have changed your opinion of the car?

I really want to love it, but I don't; its more that I like it and wouldn't mind having it than saying I completely love it and I've got to have it.

I've always liked Ferrari and always pictured myself one day owning one, I wanted a mid-engined Ferrari since I got my first die cast model as a child, always liked it and will still do but not getting it in resale-red. The problem is that I looked at it from a different perspective as I do now, it's just a nice normal car. It's not as luxurious as I had thought and driving it does'nt feel like a special occasion.

Driving on the track might of changed my perspective, I am not saying that its not nice but I am not blown away the kind that you want to go the next day and order one.

I drove it for 30 minutes its too easy to use makes it feel more like some german car with nice noise than an italian exotic, this might have to do with the gearbox.

I like the car but I don't love it, so I am not crazy about it as I might of thought so before this drive.

I think the big drawback to me not liking it as much as I thought so or loving it, is primarily due to the TV shows and the clips on youtube making it bigger and better than it seems in reality. You would expect to step out being totally blown away, I think the shows and episodes like Top-Gear spoil the whole experience because you know some partial things about what your getting as soon as you test drive it.

There is lots of hype going on and over exaggerating the car out of scale, trust me its a very normal car at the end of the day. It's fast, stable, nice to look out and sound but its not what you think your getting due to the extreme over exaggerations on EVO, Top-Gear,Fifth gear so on.

The car had 2,000km on so it was serviced and I had it in race mode, with the sporty suspension settings and it was very comfortable.

Sorry to hear about your slight disappoint Mo. I felt the same when I drove one a couple months ago. I think the Scud version will be more thrilling to drive purely because it will have less inside and be more raw.

Yes,

I blame my other car for being fast, It helped spoil the "blow" my mind performance of the 458. There is a 50/50 chance of me getting one in a couple of years maybe, though if I get one I want an aftermarket exhaust. The oem exhaust doesn't sound too loud inside, very civilised inside however I have got to say, outside it sounds sensation but needs a more F1 high pitched sound.

If you listen it doing a fly by the gearbox shifts so quick you dont enjoy the exhaust as much compared to a F430,F355,360. Your in second gear doing a flyby just shifts like crazy to 3rd then 4th. You dont get that banshee whaling sound of a 355 high pitched sound coming from miles away if you know what I mean..

Sorry have only one picture, drove more than stopping. The picture I took is when I stopped it to hand the keys.

Im comparing this to the 599 I drove a month ago:

The 458 feels more stable and just as fast if not faster. I liked the gauges of the 599 more because its less cramped and stuck together than the 458. I've been trying to find the speedo for the 458 to see what speed I was doing and it was on right side and I didn't notice it until the end of the day.

I can say that the car can reach crazy speeds on such as short road without noticing you've surpassed 200km/h already.

I like the layout of the 599 more, I think it that has to do with the colour because the car had rosso interior and was more appealing than a dark monotone blue scuro with yellow stitching.

If I had to pick one it would be the 458, the price for the performance is much better value than a 599 which costs more when comparing the loaded 458 with carbon fiber options and lots of leather to a 599 gtb with comparable specifications. The 458 sounds better, though both need a Tubi exhaust. The 599 GTB Fiorano badly needs it, its not that loud.

458 Italia vs LP560-4 :

I drove a LP560 with a Tubi, that was amazing primarily due to the exhaust but as an overall feel and fit and finish the Gallardo doesnt stand a chance with the 458, the interior feels fresh compared to the Audi like Lamborghini.

It's a nice car and easy to drive,Most cars when you drive them eventually the glow wears off. In this case its a more of a enjoy the moment in a nice car than a wow factor.
