there is a lightweight version. its called a 458 challenge. go to your local f car dealer and sign up for a race season or two. you will have fun I promise!

the 458 isn't my favorite as I have always stated. Like an ugly model. I think the lightweight version I would call a crack ho. fast and lean.

Personally I see no reason what so every for Ferrari not to build a lightway 458. It has 2 amazing predecessors which have paved the way and created a market already, now all the 458 has to do is to show up and voilá, big success.

Its a marketing BS, he probably knows that many customers are waiting for a lighweigh version and this is preventing them from buying a 458 Italia now, that is why he is acting like that. Same was with 599 GTB, same words few years back, now sales slowed and we have a 599 GTO. Trust me there will be a hardcore version of 458 Italia and it will come even earlier as many think.

One thing that we can always say about Ferrari; they do what they want, when they want, and how quick they want it to release. They can spend months, years, or however long designing and making sure it's what they want. The one thing we can all do, which we are doing, is seeing a rendering of what may possibly come. Guesses like these usually turn-up before our eyes. Look at the Challenge 458, people said "No, I don't think they will make a Challenge 458.. that's crazy it's "too nice of a machine" but, before our eyes there was "leaked" photos.. voila! It was born. Never underestimate Ferrari, they like to sneak up

it is all marketing. if he says and confirms that there will be a "Scuderia" version of the 458, most likely, a lot of people would want to wait for that and may hurt the current 458 right now in terms of sale.

Also, the variation Ferrari creates, there will be more for the 458 rather than just a coupe and spyder. Look at where the 599 right now, there is the base 599, 599 HGTE (even though its only a package), 599 GTO and the upcoming 599 roadster or something like that. So pretty much, like most of all here, its just a BS.
